TEACHING

My teaching is guided by the core belief that understanding psychological and political processes will serve students throughout their lives -- that studying how people think about social issues equips students with the tools they will need to navigate the world. As a scholar of hierarchy, politics, and race, I know that understanding the psychological underpinnings and impact of power structures is also vital for my students, and I strive to ensure that my teaching pushes and supports them through difficult subjects. To those ends, my teaching is guided by three principles:

  1. Ensure everyone can learn the material.

  2. Honor students’ diverse perspectives.

  3. Provide experiential learning opportunities.
